Nelly Uvarova, theater and film actress
Nelly Uvarova is a talented Russian theater and film actress, who became well known and popular after the TV series Not Born Beautiful. Today Nelly is a real star of Russian cinema.
The future actress was born on March 14, 1980 in a small Lithuanian town of Mazeikiai into a family of Russian and Armenian descent. Her father worked as an engineer and her mother was a gymnastics teacher. Nelly has elder sister Lena, who is a successful fashion designer.
You know, Nelly participated in school plays and was one of the main stars of all performances. Her mother even wrote scripts for school plays, in which Nelly took part.
Uvarova graduated from the All-Russian State University of Cinematography, one of the most prestigious universities throughout the CIS.
In 1999, Nelly began to appear in films. She played in the famous TV series Boomer.
Her debut film was Let’s Fly directed by Anna Melikyan. For the role in this film Uvarova was awarded the main prize at the International Institute Film Festival.

In 2001, Uvarova joined the Russian Academic Youth Theatre, where she played many prominent roles. By the way, she played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and Natalie Herzen in the play The Coast of Utopia.
However, a one-man show Rules Of Behavior In Modern Society, became one of her most striking works. For this role, she was awarded the prize of the international festival Rainbow and was also nominated for the Golden Mask award.

During the broadcast of the series she had turned into a real star of Russian television. The actress starred together with Grigory Antipenko and Yulia Takshina.
Moreover, Uvarova played in many TV series including In The First Circle, Atlantis, Heavy Sand and feature films I Stay, M + F, Ex-wife and some others.
In 2011, the actress opened an online gift shop, which was created to promote creative works of children with disabilities.
Later, in the spring of 2016, Nelly along with Evgeny Raev took part in the dance show Dancing with the Stars.
Then, in 2017, Nelly played in the comedy TV series Adaptation.
Before her role in the TV series Not Born Beautiful Nelly married film director Sergei Pikalov. They were together for three years. They say that the couple broke up because of Nelly’s popularity.
In 2011, Uvarova gave birth to her daughter Iya, whose father is Russian actor Alexander Grishin. Her son Ignatiy was born on November 1, 2016.
