Elena Vesnina, tennis player

Elena Vesnina is a Russian professional tennis player, Honored Master of Sports. In 2016 Elena and Ekaterina Makarova became Olympic champions. Also Vesnina is the winner of three Grand Slam doubles titles (Roland Garros-2013, US Open-2014, Wimbledon-2017) and one mixed-event tournament (Australian Open-2016). In addition, she is a 10-time Grand Slam finalist (7 – in the women’s doubles and 3 – mixed doubles) and the winner of the WTA Final tournament (2016) in doubles. You know, she is the winner of 21 WTA tournaments (three of them singles) and the third racket of the world in doubles. Awesome girl is a two-time winner of the Federation Cup (2007-08) as a part of the Russian national team.
Pretty girl was born on August 1, 1986 in Lvov, the USSR. Her mother Irina Vesnina was born in Sochi. Irina was engaged in athletics, but due to an injury she had to give up sports. So, Irina went to Kiev, where she met Sergey Vesnin, Elena’s father. He was engaged in the Greece-Roman wrestling. Elena has a younger brother – Dmitry. By the way, Dmitry also tried himself at professional tennis and now he works as a tennis coach.

The girl started playing tennis at the age of seven, thanks to her mother.
She made her debut in the professional tour in 2002. For three years, won two ITF tournaments. In 2005, she reached the quarterfinals of tournaments in Quebec and Tashkent. A year later, in 2006, she made her debut in Grand Slam. In Australian Open Vesnina reached the fourth round. On the Australian Open she reached the third round, losing to future champion Maria Sharapova in early 2008.
Then, in 2013, Elena reached the quarterfinals at the tournament in Oakland. At the tournament in Hobart she won a title. In the same year in Eastbourne she won the second title of the season. Later Vesnina took part in the Universiade. In the early summer the girl won Roland Garros.
At the Olympics 2016 Vesnina and Ekaterina Makarova became Olympic champions in doubles.

Personal life
For a long time, Elena thought only about tennis and did not consider any romantic relationship as serious. But in 2012 at a party with friends she met a young man, Pavel Tabuntsev. He is not a public person, and he is engaged in his own business.
Their wedding took place in Moscow in November 2015. It should be noted that many famous tennis players, including Ekaterina Makarova, Anastasia Myskina and Elena Dementieva, were invited to the party. But the public learned about the event only post facto.
