Alsou – Russian pop singer
Alsou Abramova (or just Alsou) is a Russian pop singer, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan. Talented singer took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 and took the second place (she was only 16 years old). Beautiful girl hosted the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 held in Moscow.
Alsou was born on June 27, 1983 in the Tatar city Bugulma. Her father, Ralif Safin is a Russian oligarch, a former LUKoil executive and a current member of the Federal Council. Ralif Safin is also the owner of the FC Zhemchuzhina-Sochi football team and was among the 100 richest Russian in 2004 according to Forbes Magazine. Her mother is an architect. The singer has two brothers.
When the girl was a year old her family moved from Tatarstan to Siberia. They lived in Kogalyma (Tyumen region, Russia), the northern city with severe weather conditions. In winter the temperature reached 45 degrees below zero and in the summer the same temperature, but above zero.
Parents bought a piano for 5 -year-old child, so, the girl was engaged in music since early childhood. To continue her studies, she came to Moscow in 1992. A year later the girl moved to the United States, six months later to Copenhagen, Denmark, where the singer spent another year and a half. In London she entered the British College MPW in 1995.
At the age of 15 Alsou was introduced to music manager Valeriy Belotserkovskiy and she impressed him. Her debut music video for the song Winter Dream was released in 1999. By the way, the song was a hit and the girl became famous overnight. In the same year she became the first ever in Russian show business who signed long-term contract with the record company Universal.
By 2000 more than 700.000 legal copies of her debut Russian album, released on September 16, 1999, were sold in Russia.
At the prestigious Eurovision Song Contest 2000 16-year-old singer represented Russia and took the second place with the song Solo. Astonishing girl became the youngest participant in the history of the competition. Solo became the biggest selling single of all time in Russia.
Enrique Iglesias and Russian beauty sang a duet the song You’re My #1. World Music Awards was given to the famous singer in 2001.
Together with Jon Bon Jovi she sang the song Living On A Prayer in 2003.
Before the singer turned 18, she had already achieved great success and was honored several times.
Moreover, she starred in the film Spirit Trap by David Smith, Vivat, Anna Ioanovna! directed by Svetlana Druzhinina. For the role in the Russian film she learned to ride a horse, throw darts, play the violin, as well as speak German.
Millionaire Yan Abramov and Alsou got married on March 18, 2006. Their first daughter Safina was born on September 7, 2006 and on April 29, 2008 she gave birth to her second daughter Mikella. Now they are proud parents of three children, their son Raphael was born on August 10, 2016.
