Aleksei Chumakov, Russian singer
Aleksei Chumakov is a Russian singer, musician, TV presenter, writer, screenwriter of Bulgarian-Armenian descent. You know, he was the finalist of the TV project People’s Artist on Russia channel. On May 26, 2013 Chumakov won the first season of the television show Exactly The Same. And he was a member of the jury of the second season of the show.
The boy was born on March 12, 1981 in Samarkand, Uzbek SSR, USSR. In 1995, Alex and his family moved to Tyumen, Russia. He has elder brother Sergei, who lives in Tyumen.
At the age of 11 Alexei began to write songs. His first song he performed in the show Morning Star, held in Samarkand and won it.
At the regional competition Voice of Europa Plus in Kemerovo Chumakov won in three categories – as the best vocalist, composer and arranger.
In 2003, the boy moved to Moscow.
By the way, he wrote songs for young performers, worked as sound producer and art manager.
Moreover, Alexei filmed a movie called Dirt (the old name was Strange Sunset). The singer and his friend Alexey Ushakov wrote a novel – The Color Of The Last Sunset. Also Chumakov was an actor, film director, producer and screenwriter of the film based on their novel.
In 2007 he took part in TV project Dancing on Ice on Russia-1 channel and King of the Ring on the First Channel.
A year later, in April 2008, he performed in Germany. It was his first tour abroad.
In 2009, Chumakov and Tina Kandelaki were hosts of the International contest of young pop singers New Wave in the Latvian town of Jurmala.
Besides, he took part in the TV show The Great Race on the First Channel in 2010.
In 2011, he performed a duet with American star Michael Bolton at the Festival of Russian Song in Zielona Gora (Poland). Their joint composition Hold On I’m Coming caused a flurry of emotions among music lovers. And in the same year he took part in the performance of Alexandra Pakhmutova’s musical Magical New Year.
What is more, Chumakov presented his fans with his first novel In Search of Ghosts in 2015. The singer was inspired by the great Stephen King and wrote this mystical short story.
