Natasha Poly is one of the most sought after models in the world. In the ranking of the world top models on the influential American website Models.com she is listed in the “Icons of industry”, as well as other Russian top model – Natalia Vodianova. The French edition of Vogue magazine has included Poly in the top 30 models of the 2000s.
Natalia Polevschikova, better known as Natasha Poly, was born on July 12, 1985 in Perm, Russia.
In 2000 she came to Moscow to take part in the competition of the prestigious Milan modeling agency Why Not, which was called New Model Today. Natasha was the second after Xenia Stom, who later won in the international final.
After this contest Natasha worked in Paris and Tokyo and at the age of 18 she signed a contract with the prestigious Milan branch of the New York agency Women Management.
Poly made her runway debut, walking for Emanuel Ungaro in 2004. In the same year she took part in 54 shows in New York, Milan, London and Paris during the autumn-winter fashion weeks. She worked for Ann Demeulemeester and Barbara Bui, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Versace and Proenza Schouler.
Pretty soon she began to represent brands such as Gucci, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli, Sonia Rykiel, Nine West, Dolce & Gabbana and Jimmy Choo, and this made her even more famous.
Natasha appeared on the covers and pages of the most famous fashion magazines, including Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, ELLE, Glamour and V.
In 2011, she was shot for photo calendar Pirelli by Karl Lagerfeld.
Before becoming a model, Natasha wanted to be a professional makeup artist.
She is sometimes called”Perm Snow Maiden”
On April 16, 2011 Natasha married Dutch businessman Peter Bakker. They have a daughter – Alexandra Christina Bakker, who was born in September 2013.
