Ulyana Sergeenko – Russian lady
Ulyana Sergeenko was born in Ust-Kamenogorsk in 1982 into the family of philologists.
A style icon for the future star was not Brigitte Bardot and Catherine Deneuve, but her own grandmother whose image Ulyana always uses in her collections.
At the age of 15 Sergeenko with her parents moved to St. Petersburg, where a year later she became a model. Ulyana was invited to the well-known modeling agency Modus Vivendis. There she was offered a contract with Head & Shoulders, but for some reason was shaved bald.
However, the girl dreamed of being a model in Paris and New York. The dream wasn’t fulfilled. Her intelligent parents were totally against: their daughter had to get a good education.
Ulyana graduated from the St. Petersburg State University.
She has a daughter Vasilisa.
In 2008 Ulyana married a successful businessman, head of the company “Rosgosstrakh”, Daniil Khachaturov.
The first fashion show of the brand Ulyana Sergeenko took place in the gallery ArtPlay. It was a success. And after the show as part of Fashion Week in Paris, she became a real Russian sensation.
Despite the fact that the brand Ulyana Sergeenko appeared only in 2011, the designer clothing is incredibly popular in Moscow, Paris, London and Milan. Ulyana is known for her “a la Russ” style.
Fashion bloggers call her a “Slavic princess”, fashion professionals discuss her collections. Patrick Demarchelier, Anna dello Russo, Carine Roitfeld, Suzy Menkes visit her fashion shows.
