Katya Buzhinskaya, great singer
Katya Buzhinskaya is a Ukrainian singer (mezzo soprano) born in Russia, the winner of numerous singing competitions, including the Grand Prix at Slavonic Bazaar in 1998, Honored Artist of Ukraine (2007). The girl collaborates with Ukrainian label Artur Music. She has released eight albums since 1998. In her repertoire there are songs in Ukrainian, Russian, English, and Italian.
Ekaterina was born on August 13, 1979 in Norilsk (Krasnoyarsk region), where she lived for three years, but then the family moved to Chernovtsy.
In 1991, Katya participated in a singing contest The Unknown Voice and took the first place.
In 1993, she became the winner of the contests Srіbne Dzhereltse and Chervona Ruta.
In 1994, Katya became a finalist of the TV project Morning Star.
Her most important victory was the Grand Prix at Europe’s largest festival Slavic Bazaar – 98.
In 1998, Katya became the winner of the Prometheus-Prestige in the national program Person of the Year, Discovery of the Year in the Hit-97, winner of the Golden Fortune 1999.
In June 2000, she was the winner of the national contest in modeling the Black Pearl.
Katya became the first and only singer who represented Ukraine in Italy in 2001 at the Festival in San Remo.
Katya sings in five languages: English, Italian, Hebrew, Spanish, and of course Russian.
The singer takes an active part in charity concerts.
In May 2009, Buzhinskaya was awarded the Order of St. Stanislaus. In October 2009, she received the Woman of the III millennium award.
The song Queen Of Inspiration, a duet with a popular Russian singer Stas Mikhailov was a hit both in Ukraine and in Russia.
Ekaterina’s first husband was producer Yuri Kvelenkov.
She has daughter Lena. The child’s father is Vladimir Rostunov.
In 2014 Buzhinskaya married Dmitry Stoychev.
