Andrey Merzlikin
Andrey Merzlikin is a Russian film and theater actor. His acting career began in the late 90s and since then he has starred in more than one hundred films. The actor is invited by prominent masters of Russian cinema: Nikita Mikhalkov, Peter Buslov, Valery Todorovsky, Fyodor Bondarchuk and Nikolai Dostal.
The boy was born on March 24, 1973 in Kaliningrad. His father was a professional driver, and his mother worked as an accountant. A few years after the birth of the future star of Russian cinema, his sister Lena was born.
In his teens, Andrey dreamed of being in space. Therefore, after school the boy entered the local technical school of space engineering. In 1996, he graduated from the Moscow Academy. And then Andrey graduated from the Acting Department of the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK).
While studying at the institute, he starred in the short film How I Spent My Summer (directed by N. Pogonichev) and won the Best Actor award at the Festival of Cinematography.
After graduating from the theater institute, the young actor worked for some time in the international theater project Hotel Europe by Ivan Popovsky, having visited the biggest European theater festivals in Vienna, Avignon, Stockholm and Bologna.
For ten years the actor played on the stage of the Moscow Drama Theater under the direction of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan. He took part in many plays, including The Marriage of Figaro, Three Sisters, The Inspector General, Gunpowder Barrel.
A breakthrough in the creative biography happened in 2003, when the director Peter Buslov invited the actor to his project Boomer. It became a cult film and the actors gained phenomenal popularity and all-Russian glory. So, Merzlikin became one of the most popular actors of the country.
For his work in the film Burnt by the Sun-2, Andrey received an award from the FSB. And for the role in the historical project Boris Godunov the actor was awarded the prestigious Nika Prize.
In 2012, he debuted as a film director with the short film GQ.
Also he appeared in advertisements for Mountain Dew.
Besides, Andrey has appeared in music videos for the songs of the group Seti (Smile and Heaven on Earth), Masha and Bears (Earth), B-2 (The Sand Through His Fingers).
In 2017, the actor starred in the TV series The Route of Death. The film tells about real events that happened from 2009 to 2014 on the federal highway M-4.
Personal life
In March 2006 Andrey married psychologist Anna Osokina. They have four children: son Fyodor (born on December 2, 2006), daughter Serafima (born on September 29, 2008), daughter Evdokiya (born on August 25, 2010) and their son Makar was born in January 2016.
