Alena Leonova – Russian figure skater
Alena Leonova is a Russian figure skater. You know, she is a silver medalist of the World Championship (2012), Junior World Champion 2009, two-time silver medalist of Russian Championships (2010-2011). By the way, she is a champion of the 2015 Winter Universiade, winner of the Russian Cup (2013 and 2016). Also Alena is Master of Sports of Russia of international class.
On May 2, 2018 she was the 37th in the rating of the International Skating Union (ISU).
Pretty girl was born on November 23, 1990 in Leningrad. Leonova started skating at the age of four at the ice rink Crystal. Her first coach was Marina Vakhrameeva. Alla Pyatova became Alena’s main coach when the girl was 10 years old.
Leonova was a two-time Coupe de Nice gold medalist and won silver at the 2007 Junior Grand Prix Romania. Also she won the silver medal at the 2008 Russian Junior Championships.
Later, the girl won gold at the 2009 World Junior Championships and silver at the 2010 Russian Championships.
At the 2010 Winter Olympics Leonova took the 9th place and at the 2010 Coupe de Nice she won the gold medal.
By the way, Alena took part in three Grand Prix events in the 2011–12 season: 2011 Skate Canada (4th), 2011 NHK Trophy (bronze), 2011 Cup of Russia (silver and bronze at the Grand Prix Final).
You know, at the 2012 World Team Trophy Leonova became the captain of the Russian team.
At the World Championships 2012 in Nice the figure skater became a silver medalist for the first time in her career. Her silver medal was the first medal of the world championships for Russian women’s single skating since 2005.
At the 2012 Skate America and 2013 Russian Championships Alena finished 7th.
In the 2015-2016 season Alena was the second at the Nebelhorn tournament in Germany. Three weeks later, in October 2015, she took the second place at the Nice Cup.
