Yekaterina Rednikova is a Soviet-Russian and Hollywood film actress.
Katya was born on May 17, 1973 in Moscow. She has a brother, who is seven years older. As a child, the future actress was very shy, but active. She skated, played the piano, studied at the theater studio.
Her debut role 16-year-old Rednikova played in the film Lessons In Late Spring by Oleg Kahun in 1990. Later she played a more serious role in a very good detective thriller The Abyss, Seventh Circle.
After graduation from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in 1994 Katya worked in the Et Cetera theater. She played Ruth in Beyond the Horizon, nurse in Doctor and Dark Lady in Dark Lady of the Sonnets by Bernard Shaw.
Being a student Yekaterina played in the American film Hellfire by Roger Corman.
By the way, Rednikova became popular after the title role in the film The Thief (1997) by Pavel Chukhrai. In 1998 the film was nominated for Oscar and the film crew was invited to Los Angeles to attend the ceremony. Unfortunately, it did not get the prize.

After that, the actress began to appear in American films.
You know, Yekaterina was invited to play a role in 15 Minutes, where Vladimir Mashkov also played. Unfortunately, she did not have time to get a visa, and the role was played by another actress.
But then there was the second offer and she starred in the film Falling Through with Roy Scheider and Peter Weller.
After the movie her American manager called and invited the actress to live in America. And Yekaterina went to Los Angeles, where she lived in Sasha Polovetz’s flat, chief editor of the Russian newspaper Panorama. At the Mashkov’s birthday party she met wonderful actress and Milla Jovovich’s mum Galina Loginova.
In the movie Russians in the City of Angels Rednikova played with Hollywood star Eric Roberts.
In 2005 the actress was invited to Latvia, where the British television channel BBC filmed Archangel, a movie about Joseph Dzhugashvili’s unknown son. Yekaterina gladly agreed, because it was her dream to star with Daniel Craig, famous British actor. In the film Craig played a role of American professor Kelso.
Actually, Rednikova starred in the Turkish film Balalaika by Rustam Ibragimbekov. Thanks to the role Yekaterina became the Best Turkish actress.
Also Rednikova was offered to play in the TV series Impostors. At first she refused, but film director Konstantin Khudyakov fascinated her. The actress starred in Chronicle of Love and Death, I Planned My Escape, Nine Months and Natural Selection, based on the novel by Alexander Zvyagintsev.

Personal life
Rednikova is a strong and independent person. Men are afraid of such women, because they love women to depend on them.
For the first time Yekaterina fell in love at the age of 13, her boyfriend was seven years older. She learned a lot from him. For example, he loved Marina Tsvetaeva and read poems for her. That’s why Rednikova was fond of poetry and even wrote poems herself.
The actress wrote Treatise On Love when she was 20. On the set of the Hellfire she fell in love with an English actor and tried to understand her feelings. But now treatise is lost.
In 2008 Rednikova married producer Sergey Konov, who is Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s uncle. Their first meeting took place in America, where the future spouses were introduced to each other by Al Pacino.
On August 24, 2012 their son Lavrentiy was born. Yekaterina dreamed of a child for a long time and finally she got her main role – a role of a mother!
“When we are happy, we look younger. You should become a creator of positive emotions. Create an aura of happiness around you and you’ll look 10 years younger” said Yekaterina.
