Vera Brezhneva – Russian-Ukrainian singer, actress

Vera Halushka, better known under her stage name Vera Brezhneva, is a famous singer and actress, ex-soloist of the popular female band VIA Gra. Today she gives solo concerts, and also appears on the screens as a TV presenter. Glossy magazines more than once called Vera the standard of femininity and beauty.
Pretty girl was born on February 3, 1982 in Dneprodzerzhynsk. Her mother Tamara is Russian, and her father Viktor is mixed of Ukrainian and Russian descent. Vera has three sisters: Galina and twins Anastasia and Victoria. Victoria became the wife of Russian singer and TV presenter Alexander Tsekalo. As a teenager, Vera was fond of sports (handball, basketball, karate, and gymnastics).
The girl graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Rail Engineering Institute.
In November 2002 Vera was invited to join VIA Gra. However, the surname Galushka did not match the stage image of the sexy band. Producer Dmitry Kostyuk had the idea to replace her surname with the pseudonym Brezhneva, because former Secretary General Leonid Brezhnev was also from Dneprodzerzhinsk. And in January 2003, there were three girls in the group – Nadezhda Granovskaya, Anna Sedokova and Vera Brezhneva.

The SonyMusic management called the band the most successful project and decided to record the debut English-language album. In May, the girls went to Israel, where they presented the single Good Morning Dad.
In 2007 Brezhneva left the band and was replaced by Tatiana Kotova.

You know, in 2008 Vera began her solo career and her first single I Don’t Play was premiered in May of the same year. The song was written by her former producer Konstantin Meladze. In the same year Brezhneva took part in the TV show Ice Age 2 together with Armenian figure skater Vazgen Azroyan.
Moreover, Vera was a TV host of the year in 2008, the most stylish person in Russia in 2010, Woman of the Year in 2010 according to Glamour magazine. Besides, she was awarded Golden Gramophone for the song Petals of Tears (Vera performed it together with Dan Balan).
In 2015, her second solo album Ververa was released. Also in 2015, the singer presented the composition Floors, which Brezhneva performed together with rapper T-killah.

Personal life
Vera was married to Vitaliy Voychenko for a few years. He is the father of her daughter Sonia, who was born on March 30, 2001.
In November 2006, Vera married Ukrainian businessman Mikhail Kiperman. On December 17, 2009 she gave birth to their daughter Sarah. In 2012 they divorced.
