Sasha, Russian Madonna
Sasha is a Russian pop and R’n’B singer, model, choreographer and producer.
Alexandra Antonova (her real name) was born on February 5, 1979 in Moscow, but soon the family moved to Syktyvkar (Komi Republic). Her father was a pilot, and her mother was a flight attendant. As a little girl Alexandra was engaged in figure skating, singing and dancing. Sasha grew up under the influence of Western music. She was fond of music by Michael Jackson, George Michael and Madonna.
After graduation from school, Sasha entered the law school, but later quitted it.
At the age of 19 Antonova went to Moscow. The girl worked as a go-go dancer in a well-known club Diamond. Then she began to work with producer Yuri Aizenshpis and newspapers called her “Russian Madonna”.
Alexandra was on the covers of such magazines as Playboy, Maxim, Vogue, Cosmopolitan. Numerous interviews in Vogue and Cosmopolitan made her popular not only in Russia, but also abroad. Beautiful Sasha became a model for the photo shoots of art-photo studio Fresh Art. Her photos were also included in a special photo release of Vogue, released under the direction of Brian Adams.
She has released two albums: Sasha in 2003, Call Me in 2005 and 11 music videos.
In 2007 the singer became a host and producer of the reality show Babii Bunt on MTV.
Today Alexandra Antonova is known under the pseudonym Sasha Gradiva. She lives in Los Angeles (California), visits New York and Moscow. The singer works with famous musicians and producers.
