Maria Mashkova is a Russian film and theater actress.
Pretty girl was born on April 19, 1985 in Novosibirsk. Masha was born into a family of actors. Her mother Elena Shevchenko is a theater and film actress. And her father Vladimir Mashkov is an actor and film director, People’s Artist of Russia. The little girl was brought up by her grandparents, because her parents went to Moscow to study at the theater universities. When Maria was two years old her parents divorced. After the divorce, Vladimir Mashkov got married another woman. Elena Shevchenko also married for the second time and gave birth to two sons: Nikita (born in 1994) and Vsevolod (born in 2002).
By the way, Maria played her debut role of Lavinia in the film by Vladimir Grammatikov A Little Princess when she was 11 years old.
In 1992, Masha moved to live with her mother in Moscow. At the age of seven, she acted in the play Victoria based on the play by Terence Rettigena (directed by Andrei Goncharov). And in 2002, when she studied in the eleventh grade of a secondary school, Maria played the main role in the play Baumeister Solness directed by Tatyana Akhramkova.
After school, the girl entered the Plekhanov Academy (Faculty of Economics), but then she changed her mind and entered the Shchukin Theater School. You know, Maria together with her mother Elena Shevchenko played in the film Mother Do Not Cry.
In 2000 Maria took part in the melodrama by Valery Akhadov together with prominent representatives of Russian cinema Valery Garkalin, Vera Glagoleva, Maxim Sukhanov and Galina Polskikh. Two years later the film actress was lucky enough to play along with Alexander Abdulov in the multi-part criminal tragicomedy NEXT 2.
Later, in 2006 she joined the troupe of the Lenkom Theatre. But she left it in 2010 before the birth of her daughter.
At first she played small roles in the movies, including the film Papa (2004) by Vladimir Mashkov. The actress became famous after the role of Maria Tropinkina in the television series Not Born Beautiful (2005-2006).
The actress has already played more than 30 roles in TV series, movies and short films.
Later, in 2008, a social tragicomedy Closed Spaces was released, in which Maria played the main role together with Leonid Bichevin. The film was noted at the festival Amur Autumn, and Maria received a special prize for her role in this film.
In 2012, the actress starred in the military-psychological drama The Gauleiter Hunt along with Anastasia Zavorotnyuk. The film is based on real events, and their characters Maria Arkhipova and Galina Pomazan were really existing people who became heroes of the Soviet Union.
The film Poor Liz, about the love of the sergeant of the Canadian police and the simple Cossack girl, was released in 2013. And the main role in the film was performed by Mashkova.
In 2017 she performed roles in the TV series McMafia and Native People.
Personal life
Artem Semakin was her first husband from 2005 to 2009.
In November 2009, Alexander Slobodyanik, musician and businessman, became her second husband. Masha and Alexander have two daughters: Stefania (born on June 6, 2010) and Alexandra (born on March 12, 2012). Immediately after the birth of her second daughter, Maria and Alexander divorced.
