Leonid Agutin – Russian singer
Leonid Agutin is a Soviet and Russian singer, songwriter, composer, Honored Artist of Russia (2008).
The boy was born on July 16, 1968 in Moscow, into the family of musician Nikolai Petrovich and teacher Lyudmila Leonidovna (nee Shkolnikova). His father sang in the band Blue Guitar, was the winner of Bratislava Lyre. Also he worked as an administrator in groups Jolly Fellows, Singing Hearts and Pesnyary. His mother was a primary school teacher, honored teacher of Russia. Leonid has two sisters Ksenia and Maria.
The boy graduated from the Moscow jazz school Moskvorechye.
From 1986 to 1988 he served in the Russian army, frontier troops.
In 1993, Leonid graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Culture. Since 1991, he traveled with the famous Russian groups as a “warm-up” singer.
In 1992, Agutin became a laureate of the international competition Yalta-92, and in 1993 he was the winner of the international competition Jurmala-93.
Then, in 1994, he released his first solo album Barefoot Boy, which in the spring of that year became a hit. In the same year Agutin won Singer of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year awards.
You know, in April 1995, the singer made another breakthrough in the Russian show business, he gave two sold-out concerts in Sports Complex Olympiysky.
In December 1995, he released his second solo album Decameron.

Besides, in a duo with his wife Anzhelika Varum Agutin recorded many hits. In addition, over the years he has also collaborated with singer Vladimir Presnyakov and the owner of Grammy Al Di Meola. In cooperation with the last of these musicians Agutin recorded the album Cosmopolitan Life, which was introduced in the UK, USA, Canada, Austria and Russia.
What is more, in 2013, Agutin starred in a documentary about his life and destiny, which is called Leonid Agutin: Drop of Regret.
Not all poems by Agutin become songs. Sometimes they sound better without music. Therefore, in 2009, the musician decided to publish a book of his own poems and called it Notebook 69. Five years later the singer published the book Poetry Of Ordinary Days.
Along with Alexander Gradsky, Pelageya and Dima Bilan, Agutin was the member of the jury and mentor of the team in the musical television project Voice.
In autumn of 2017, the musician gave a solo concert at the Crocus City Hall, and the money was sent to the Konstantin Khabensky Charity Fund.
Personal life
His first wife was Svetlana. They were together for five years and divorced in 1993.
Russian singer Anzhelika Varum became his second wife. On February 9, 1999 their daughter Elizaveta was born.
Leonid is a father of one more daughter Polina, born in 1996. The mother of the girl is ballerina Maria Vorobyeva.
