Aliya Mustafina – Olympic Gold Medalist 2012

Aliya Mustafina is a Russian artistic gymnast, 2012 Olympic gold medalist as well as the 2010 World Individual All-Around Champion. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she has won four medals, including the silver in the team all-around, the bronze in the individual all-around final, the gold in the uneven bars final, and the bronze in the floor final. Also she is a three-time world champion and a five-time European champion. By the way, she is a multiple winner of the World and European championships, Honored Master of Sports of Russia. In 2012 Mustafina was recognized as Sportswoman of the Year in Russia.
Pretty girl was born on September 30, 1994 in Yegoryevsk, Russia. Her father was the bronze medalist at 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal in Greece-Roman wrestling, as well as coach of CSKA sports school. And her mother worked as a physics teacher. The girl’s younger sister Nailya Mustafina is also engaged in gymnastics and she is a master of sports. But after the injury the girl left professional sports, participating in amateur competitions.

Anastasia Davydova and Anastasia Ermakova are Russian competitors in synchronized swimming and four-time Olympic champions.
They won gold medals in the duet competition at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Then they won gold at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Anastasia Davydova was born on February 2, 1983 in Moscow. She is 13-times World champion, seven-time European champion, five-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming.
The International Federation of Water Sports recognized Davydova as the best swimmer of 2000-2009.
At the 2011 World Aquatics Championships in Shanghai, Anastasia also won three top awards. And according to the results of the championship, the Russian team won all the gold medals in all kinds of synchronized swimming.

Svetlana Khorkina is a Russian gymnast, seven-time Olympic medalist, and a former deputy of the Russian State Duma (from 2007 to 2011). The athlete is Honored Master of Sports of Russia (1995). She is one of the most successful female gymnasts of her era. During her career, she won 47 World, Olympic and European medals. Khorkina won 10 (7 Gold, 3 Silver) medals at major All-Around Championships, more than any other gymnast. Also she was the first gymnast to win three all-around titles at the World Championships.
By the way, Khorkina is known for being a “diva,” but she has embraced such charges, stating “I don’t mind. I wouldn’t have been called a diva or a queen if I wasn’t creative.”
Pretty girl was born on January 19, 1979 in Belgorod. The parents of the sportswoman are from Mordovia. They came to Belgorod to work, but stayed there for a long time. Her father worked as a builder, and mother was a nurse in a kindergarten.
It was a neighbor who advised Svetlana’s mother to take her 4-year-old daughter to a sports school, recommending a gymnastics section. The woman liked the idea, and little Svetlana began to attend classes.

Alena Zavarzina is a Russian snowboarder who competed for Russia at the 2010 Winter Olympics in parallel giant slalom, finishing 17th. By the way, Alena is Honored Master of Sports of Russia (2011).
Pretty girl was born on May 27, 1989 in Novosibirsk. Since childhood, the girl was engaged in sport. When Alena was 5 years old, her mother took her to the rhythmic gymnastics classes. Then the girl started swimming. Alena did not show much success in the pool, but she was seriously interested in snowboarding. At first it was just a fascinating hobby for the future champion.
In 2009 Alena won silver at the Junior World Cup and was the second at the European Cup.
On January 19, 2011 Zavarzina became world champion in parallel giant slalom. She won a gold medal at the FIS Snowboarding World Championships in Telluride, Colorado.

She is best known for her explosive forehand, which was said to be one of the best at the time. Together with Richard Gasquet 16-year-old Tatiana won the 2004 French Open mixed doubles event. However, in 2008, she was diagnosed with lower back inflammation and was forced to stop playing competitive tennis.
Golovin spent six years at Nick Bollettieri’s tennis camp in Bradenton, Florida. She is currently coached by former World No. 1 Mats Wilander. Previously she was coached by Brad Gilbert and Dean Goldfine.
