Anastasia Chizhova’s gallery presented a unique porcelain dolls exhibition – From Russ to Russia. Every doll is very colorful and lively.
Olina Wentzel was dolls’ “mother”. Her works are shown in museums and exhibitions. Also awesome dolls were bought for private collections in Moscow, Amsterdam, New York, Venice, Paris, Copenhagen. The Royal Houses of Europe, the Churchill family, Mireille Mathieu, Paul McCartney and many other celebrities have Olina’s porcelain ladies and gentlemen in their collections.
The exhibition From Russ to Russia was dedicated to Russian rulers and historical figures.
I’d like to tell you some words about Olina.
Olina Wentzel was born on December 2, 1938 in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.
She was a Russian theater painter and was awarded the honorary title Master of the museum doll.

Nonna Mordyukova, Soviet actress


Nonna Mordyukova (November 25, 1925 – July 6, 2008) was a Soviet actress and People’s Artist of the USSR (1974). She co-starred with the best actors of the Soviet era, including Vasily Shukshin, Yuri Nikulin, Valentin Zubkov, Mikhail Ulyanov, Vyacheslav Tikhonov and others.
Her real name was Noyabrina as she was born in November. Nonna had three sisters and two brothers. In 1945 the young girl moved to Moscow from Yeisk.
After graduation from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in 1950, Nonna played in the Actors Studio Theatre.
You know, Mordyukova’s first role was the role of Ulyana Gromova in the film The Young Guard, directed by Sergei Gerasimov in 1948. Sergei Bondarchuk, Inna Makarova, Sergei Gurzo, Vyacheslav Tikhonov also starred in the film.
In 1949, Mordyukova was awarded the Stalin Prize for her debut role.
It was on the set of the film when Nonna fell in love with Tikhonov, her future husband. By the way, they lived together for 13 years.

Russian celebrities such as Andrey Bartenev, Olesya Sudzilovskaya, Konstantin Kryukov, Ksenia Sobchak, Olga Rodionova, Elena Korikova, Maria Malinovskaya, Sergey Lazarev and other persons of Russian show business took part in a photo project Vintage, dedicated to the masterpieces of cinema. Russian stars appeared in the images of the legendary figures of world cinema of the last century. The authors of the project tried to recreate the atmosphere of such films as Gone With the Wind, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Bonnie and Clyde, Casablanca, Shanghai Express, Cabaret, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Pink Panther and some others.
