Svetlana Khodchenkova is a Russian actress, best known for her role of Viper in “The Wolverine” (2013).
Svetlana was born on January 21, 1983 in Zheleznodorozhniy, a small city about 6 miles east of Moscow.
When Sveta was a little girl she thought she would become a nurse. She treated her dolls. Then she decided to become a surgeon, but the girl hated biology and chemistry, and then realized she was afraid of blood.
In 1998, at the age of 15, she began working as a fashion model and also made a few international gigs, went to France, where she worked for two or three months, then flew to Japan. She spent her first earned money on a home telephone (it was very cool to have your own phone at home).
She quit modeling business because disappointed in it. “Everything is so dishonest, dirty, despicable and inhuman – she says. – Only strong girls can survive in the modeling industry”.
After school, she entered the Institute of World Economy but left it because economy seemed to her a very boring subject.
From 2001 to 2005 she studied acting in the Shchukin Theatrical School of the Vakhtangov Theatre in Moscow.
Khodchenkova’s debut role was in the film “Bless the Woman” directed by Stanislav Govorukhin. For this role she was nominated for “Nika” award as Best Actress.
In 2005 Svetlana played in “Pictures Hunters”, then in the 12- series film “Realtor” directed by Alexander Hwang and in the TV series “Talisman of Love”.
She also starred in the comedy “Four taxi drivers and a dog – 2”, “Reproduction” and in two parts of the movie “Love in the City” by Marius Weisberg.
Svetlana played a ballerina in Pavel Sanaev’s film Zero Kilometer.
In 2011 the actress made her Hollywood debut in the film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy!.

Outside of her acting profession, Svetlana is skilled in horseback riding. She is also fond of winter sports, such as alpine skiing; she practiced her downhill in the ski resort of Kurshevel, France.
Her husband, actor Vladimir Yaglych, Svetlana met in the university. In the TV series Quiet Moscow Courtyard they played husband and wife. A little later, they had to play together again in the film Carousel.
In December 2005 they got married. The couple married on the 13th on purpose; because all their filming contracts were signed on the 13th, they believed that 13 would keep working as a good number for them. However, in summer 2010, they divorced.
In 2013 Khodchenkova secretly married Moscow businessman Georgy Petrishin.
