Sasha, Russian Madonna
Sasha (her real name is Alexandra Antonova) is a Russian pop and R’n’B singer, model, choreographer, producer.
Sasha was born on February 5, 1979 in Moscow, but soon the family moved to Syktyvkar (Komi Republic). Her father was a pilot, and her mother was a flight attendant. As a little girl Alexandra was engaged in figure skating, singing and dancing. Sasha grew up under the influence of Western music. She was fond of music by Michael Jackson, George Michael and Madonna.
At the age of 19 Antonova went to Moscow. The girl worked as a go-go dancer in a well-known club Diamond. Then she began to work with producer Yuri Aizenshpis and newspapers called her “Russian Madonna”.
Alexandra was on the covers of such magazines as Playboy, Maxim, Vogue, Cosmopolitan.
She has released two albums: Sasha in 2003, Call Me in 2005 and 11 music videos.
In 2007 the singer became a host and producer of the reality show Babii Bunt on MTV.
Now Alexandra lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
