Lesya Makhno, volleyball player
Lesya Makhno is a Russian volleyball player, Honored Master of Sports of Russia, World champion in 2010.
Pretty girl was born on September 4, 1981 in Poltava Region, but as a child she and her family moved to Surgut, Tyumen region. In Tyumen she started playing volleyball in the sports school Geologist.
Later, in 1998, the girl began developing her career as an athlete, playing several seasons for Gazprom-Rossy in Moscow. Soon she went to the Luch. Russian national team won bronze at the World Universiade in 2003.
The girl decided to continue her career, and from 2004 to 2005, she played for the Dynamo team, and in 2006 moved to CSKA, but there she was for only one year. In 2005, Lesya won the silver medal and the Cup of Russia. This was the first serious victory after the Universiade.
The volleyball player chose Dynamo and played in the team until 2011. This was the record of the girl’s stay in the club. As a part of the Dynamo team, Lesya became the champion of the Russian Federation in volleyball twice, three times she got silver, and the Cup of Russia was given once. The legendary sportswoman became a two-time silver medalist at the international championship in 2008.
In autumn 2010, Makhno became the world champion in volleyball.
Makhno moved to the Kazan club in 2011 from Dynamo Moscow and won gold in Russia Championship-2011/12, silver medal in Russian Cup and bronze medal in Champions League.
Lesya is four-time champion of Russia (2007, 2009, 2012, 2013), four-time silver medalist of Russian championships (2005, 2008, 2010, 2011), three-time winner (2005, 2009, 2012) and three-time finalist of the Cup of Russia (2007, 2008, 2011) silver (2007, 2009) and bronze (2012) medalist of the Champions League.
To tell the truth, in 2013 Makhno announced the completion of her playing career.
In August 2012 Lesya married a Russian handball player Egor Evdokimov.
