Igor Andreev – tennis player


Igor Andreev is a Russian tennis player, Honored Master of Sports of Russia. He is the winner of the 2006 Davis Cup as part of the Russian national team. Also he was the winner of 4 ATP tournaments (3 – in single and 1 – in doubles). By the way, Igor was the quarter-finalist of the French Open in 2007.
The boy was born on July 14, 1983 in Moscow. His father Valery is a businessman and his mother Marina is a housewife. Igor has younger brother Nikita, who also plays tennis. At the age of seven he began to play tennis.
On the advice of Marat Safin and Dinara Safina’s mother 15-year-old Andreev moved to Valencia (Spain), where he continued training.
Andreev started his professional career in 2002 and in 2005 he won three ATP tournaments (Valencia, Palermo and Moscow).
For the first time in his career Andreev entered the list of the 50 best players in the world in 2004. During the same year the Russian tennis player had reached two finals: in Switzerland in July, losing to Roger Federer, and in Bucharest in September, losing to Jose Acasuso. At the end of the year, Igor won 28 games and made his debut in the Davis Cup.

Irina Rodnina – legend of figure skating

Irina Rodnina became the most successful figure skater in the history of pair skating. She is a three-time Olympic champion, ten-time world champion, eleven-time European champion and six-time champion of the USSR. By the way, she is the first pair skater to win the Olympic title with two different partners.

Her brilliant career began in 1969, and then there were fame and glory!
Ira was born on September 12, 1949. In her childhood she was a little weak girl. Her parents wanted their daughter to be healthy and in 1954 they brought her to the skating rink. Stanislav Zhuk became Irina’s first coach. He offered the girl to skate with Alexei Ulanov. During the training there was an accident: Ulanov dropped Irina on the ice. As a result she had a concussion and an intracranial hematoma. Ira survived, though it was a very hard time for her. For a month she had been lying motionless in a bed with a terrible headache, reading Pushkin and listening to the Beatles.
But in about a month after the accident her coach called and said, as nothing had happened: “I’ve found a boy for you. Come and look at him!”
Ira came and the world was pleased to see the favorite skater on skating rink again!

Ksenia Dudkina is a Russian gymnast, 2012 Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics in group all-around.
Pretty girl was born on February 25, 1995 in Omsk. Dudkina was trained by Elena Arais before she started competing in group. Then she was spotted by Irina Viner, who invited the girl to Moscow to prepare for group exercises. Awesome girl became a member of the Russian National Team in Rhythmic Gymnastics in group all-around.
At the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore Ksenia became a champion. And in 2011, she was a silver medalist at the World Group All-around. She won 2 gold medals at the prestigious Miss Valentine tournament.
In 2011 Dudkina became an Honored Master of Sports of Russia (presumably, the youngest in Russia).
A year later, Ksenia became Olympics Group All-around champion in London along with other beauties – Alina Makarenko, Ulyana Donskova, Anastasia Bliznyuk, Anastasia Nazarenko and Karolina Sevastianova. By the way, Ksenia was one of the youngest members of the Russian Group – only 17 years old.

Lidiya Skoblikova is a Soviet speed skater, the only six-time Olympic champion in the history of speed skating, the absolute champion of the 1964 Olympic Games in Innsbruck, coach. By the way, she was a two-time absolute world champion (1963, 1964). You know, Lidiya was world records holder at distances of 1000 m (1963-1968), 1500 m (1960-1962) and 3000 m (1967).

Pretty girl was born on March 8, 1939 in Zlatoust, Ural region, Soviet Union. Lidiya grew up in a large working-class family (father, mother, three sisters, and the eldest brother). Active girl was engaged in skiing, volleyball, athletics, gymnastics.
At the age of 14, Lidiya won the track and field championships in Chelyabinsk region (800 m). A year later, she decided to try her hand at speed skating. In 1956 she became the champion of her native city and in the same year Lidiya entered the Chelyabinsk Pedagogical Institute.

Nikolai Valuev is a Russian giant with a sensitive soul. Also he is known as the Beast from the East. By the way, he is the heaviest and tallest heavyweight boxing champion in history. The boxer is 213 cm tall, and the weight at the peak of the sports career reached 146-151 kg.
Awesome boy was born on August 21, 1973 in Leningrad, Soviet Union (now Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation). As a teenager, he played basketball and was a discus thrower.
At one time Valuev attended a circus school, then he entered the Institute of Physical Culture. A year later he left the institute, but graduated from it 10 years later. In 2010, the boxer entered the Moscow University at the Faculty of Economics.
At the age of 20 Nikolai became a boxer. Oleg Shalaev was the first coach of Valuev. His career as a boxer began in 1993 and developed at a rapid pace.
The first fight took place in Berlin, where Nikolai defeated American John Morton. In 1999, Valuev defeated Russian boxer Alexei Osokin and became the heavyweight champion of the country. The following year, the athlete won the title of champion in a fight with Ukrainian boxer Yuri Elistratov.

The boy was born on October 8, 1871 in the village of Krasenovka (Poltava Governorate, Russian Empire), into the family of a hereditary Zaporozhye Cossack Maxim Poddubny. His father was a great man with a giant stature and Herculean power. Many years later Ivan said that his father was the only person stronger than him. Ivan’s mother had a beautiful voice. On Sundays, the bogatyr Poddubny sang in the church choir.
At the age of 22, the guy left his native village in the Crimea. He fell in love with beautiful Alena. The girl grew up in a well-to-do family, so her father was categorically against her marriage with poor Poddubny. Ivan wanted to earn money, become rich and marry the girl. But soon after leaving the young man forgot about her.
