Alena Apina – Russian singer
Alena Apina (her maiden name is Levochkina) was born on August 23, 1964 in Saratov. According to another version, singer’s birth year is 1967.
Alena is a Russian pop singer, Honored Artist of Russia (2002). She was the lead vocalist in the pop group “Kombinaciya” (1987-1991).
In 1991 Apina began a solo career and in 1992 recorded her first album “Street Love”.
The most successful was the second album by Apina “Dance till the morning” (the album’s composer was Arkady Ukupnik), from which all 8 tracks became hits.
In winter of 1994 Apina decided to put on a musical performance on the basis of popular music. She was the first in Russia, who did it. The pop novel was called “Limita”. Apina worked in collaboration with the legendary composer Mikhail Tanich and director Dmitry Astrakhan. The performance was shown in Russia and abroad.
Alena’s husband is a producer Alexander Iratov. They have a daughter Xenia (born on December 7, 2001). Apina’s daughter is 12 years old. The famous singer spends all her free time with the family. In an interview, Apina said that she was treated for infertility for seven years and had nine miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy, in vitro fertilization, hormone therapy. But there wasn’t any result. Apina and her husband decided to hire the services of a surrogate mother.
Alena’s hobbies are cars, dogs, gardening. Apina works as a music teacher in her daughter’s school. She also created musical collective “Lyalyaki” there and wrote a song for them. Of course Xenia is one of the singers.
